ART PRODUCTION 1983-1993

In 1983 I made the radical decision to end my 12 + year career creating minimal sculptural installations. My reasons - I wanted to be able to draw an honest line and I felt an unexplainable push to create works that would communicate beyond the arena of my art peers. In 1983 I began drawing. I taught myself to draw by doing daily self-portraits. Also, during that same year I was personally given strong advice by the sculptor Anne Truitt. She told me that my decision to switch gears would take time and that it would be wise for me to work for 10 years without the pressure of showing. Her advice made great sense to me. Therefore, my exhibition record, by choice, is non-existent for the years 1983-1993.
